Hey sorry again for the absence, I haven’t had much time for blogging the past few weeks hence why there has been no posts and not much in the way of commenting on other peoples blogs.

Even though we had some pretty good rain fall over winter and spring it is amazing how quickly the landscape looses its green colour. I took this shot just outside of Canberra a few weeks back and things are starting to get pretty dry indeed. I love the contrast in colours the summer landscape provides with the gold fields feeding off of the blue sky. This shot was taken with the Sigma 10-20mm lens on the D90.

We are heading down to Mollymook next weekend and I can’t wait. It has been too long since we hit the coast but it should be a nice little vacation before the Xmas madness.

Only 9 weeks to go until our first baby arrives, man it is becoming real now!

  2. wooooh not long now till the little one arrives, how very exciting 🙂
have you started picking out names?
everything here as turned a lovely yellow also, lets hope this summer isnt as bad as the late one :/

i feel like i’m standing right there in this moment with you, the joys of wide angles 🙂

    • Not long at all Chloe, excitement and fear at the same time to be honest. we have short listed a few names, but it is a pretty big responsibility.

The standard lense just wasn’t going to do this scene justice, so the wide angle came out.

      Thanks again

  3. Looks like it could be a business card the way you’ve set it out.
Very nice photo, btw. Good composition, nice and contrasty.

  4. Hey Michael,
Great shot, love hay bales, there were some nice ones just out of Murrumbateman on my way over to Mollymook. I haven’t been shooting here yet, just been out on Narrawallee Inlet most days fishing. Been some nice weather, slightly hazy and windy though.

Let me know if you want to catch up or go for a shoot.
    Have fun, Tom.

  5. Hey Tom

I love hay bails as well, they make great subjects.

Hope the fishing has been good for you, I’m a bit like you a bit up and down with the photography at the moment.

Keen to catch up or go for a shoot if you will still be in the area on the weekend. I will post on your blog.

  6. Great landscape shot! I love the way the clouds and the land seem to really meet at the vanishing point. Congrats on the arrival approaching!
