Walking the wall

Lookout Dubrovnik 2 B&W

Thought I would keep the European theme going with this shot taken from the city walls in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The city walls in Dubrovnik are truly amazing to walk around with views stretching across a beautiful coastline and over the old town itself with its beautiful architecture and bright orange roof tiles. I think Croatia and Slovenia for that matter would have to of been two of my favorite places in Europe. Although not unknown these places have far less tourists than most of Western Europe whilst the natural beauty and the people are just as good if not better than their Western Counterparts. Its amazing to think that this place of beauty was not that long ago the site of heavy fighting of which the scars are still healing.

As we head towards the Winter solstice things are getting pretty grim here in Canberra and any photography during the week is almost impossible (well for me anyway). Hope people are having better luck elsewhere in the country.

  1. I like this one Michael ! The conversion works a treat and the sense of movement in the sky in contradiction with the old stationary solid stone work kicks it off well !
